About Circular Matters
Circular Matters is a full-service development partner for climate-positive materials for construction and interior design. Founded by Pieter Dondeyne, who has over 7 years of hands-on experience in material innovation, we work alongside a team of skilled engineers and designers to create next-generation circular materials.
We can seamlessly integrate with your in-house development team or manage your entire R&D project from concept to validated prototype ready for scaling.
Our R&D facility in Belgium is fully equipped with lab and pilot-scale presses, ovens, mixers, and analytical instruments — everything needed to test and produce material panels. For specialized or occasional equipment needs, we collaborate with trusted partners nearby.
Whether you’re looking to replace virgin materials, valorize waste streams, or develop entirely new climate-positive products, we’re here to help bring your ideas to life.
Full-Cycle Focus for Real-World Impact
We look at the full picture — from raw material sourcing and energy use to production, application, and end-of-life. Rather than focusing on isolated improvements, we aim to reduce the total environmental footprint and contribute to positive social impact. We support our clients in developing LCAs (Life Cycle Assessments) and EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) to measure and communicate the performance of their products.
In-House Pilot Production
Our in-house pilot line allows us to produce the first thousands of square meters of your newly developed material. This means you can test and validate your product in real-world conditions — without the upfront cost of building a full production facility. It’s a flexible, low-risk step toward market-ready innovation.

Collaborative R&D
We don’t just develop materials — we co-develop them. Whether you’re starting with a clear brief or just an idea, we work closely with your team to explore possibilities, define requirements, and run experiments. Our process is iterative, transparent, and hands-on, ensuring the end result fits your goals, values, and production reality. You bring the ambition — we help make it tangible.
Designed for Manufacturing
Great materials don’t just perform well — they need to work in production, too. From the start, we consider manufacturability, scalability, and technical constraints to ensure your material can be produced reliably and cost-effectively. Whether it’s integrating with your existing equipment or preparing for industrial scale-up, we design with real-world implementation in mind.
