General Questions

Architects, contractors or individuals can buy materials through our customers. The first product that’s commercially available is the PlantBased Tile by StoneCycling.

If you’re a brand, you can get materials by starting a co-creating process.

Not yet, we’re working on it.

As we are a small team, we are currently unable to answer requests from student.

Technical Questions

Circular Matters’ Coobeau materials are made entirely from natural polymers extracted from plants. We are flexible about the type of plants we use to make our products and can use a range of feedstocks, including legumes and agricultural waste. Our materials are not chemically modified during the manufacturing process meaning they will break down fully without leaving behind any harmful pollutants at end of life. We mainly use plantbased co-products, not suitable for food or feed. At the moment, we mainly use corn cob (the leftovers once the corn kernels are removed) and plantbased leftovers from the bioethanol production.

Our materials are made from natural polymers extracted from plants. The biomass we use most is derived from corn and/or wheat, more specifically from naked corn cob (with the corn removed) and co-products from bio-ethanol and starch production. We only use non-food biomass.

Yes, our materials are not chemically modified during the manufacturing process meaning they will break down fully without leaving behind any harmful pollutants at end of life.

We add 0.00% glues or resins. Instead, we use the natural polymers inside leftover biomass as a natural kind of glue.

No, they don’t. In order for the natural decay process to start, the materials have to be shredded and water and microorganisms have to be added.

The materials are neither a plastic nor a bioplastic. They are unique high performance natural polymer materials sourced from abundant plant-based feedstocks. Our materials are produced using non-chemically modified natural polymers, and are therefore exempt from upcoming regulations, such as the Single-Use Plastic Directive.
